Hand Dyed Yarn Colourway: Inspired by my Winter experiences in nature on my Australian bush home

Nature Trails Yarn Club Winter Colourway: A Feast of Green

Winter can look and feel so different depending on where we live.

Every time winter comes around in my home, I prepare myself for less sunlight and shorter days that are often wet, grey, and cold. It's easy to assume everything will be more gloomy and less colourful than at other times of the year. In many ways, this is true; the days are shorter and there is less sun and warmth. But when it comes to colours, winter around my bush home has a lot to offer.

I sometimes marvel at how, when there is fog all around or on a cloudy winter day, the many shades of green around me seem to come alive. It's like the soft light enhances the vibrance of the green, making everything seem more mysterious and enchanting. Usually, when creating colourways, the colour that emerges represents the feeling of a thing, not its literal colour. But in this case, the feeling and the visual experience are very closely connected.

I hope this colourway adds a touch of colour to brighten the grey for you too.
