Collection: Alicia Plummer Knitting Patterns

Alicia Plummer is an American knitwear designer living in Midcoast Maine. She is well known for her beautiful yet uncomplicated knitting patterns. 

As a teacher, knitwear designer, and wordsmith, she finds solace and expression in the rhythmic motion of knitting needles. For Alicia, crafting knitting patterns is akin to spinning tales with yarn, weaving narratives into each stitch and this is something that I am a big believer in here at Augustbird. Just like me, Alicia likes to tell stories with her hands and what she creates. 

A nature lover and outdoor adventurer at heart, Alicia finds great pleasure in kayaking, trekking along forest paths and drinking in sunsets.

Alicia's philosophy goes deeper than just knitting; it reflects her belief in inclusivity and empathy. To her, knitting patterns aren't just about creating garments; they're vehicles for personal stories. She sees them as a way for diverse voices and experiences to come together, weaving tangible expressions of memory and emotion.

Alicia was taught to knit as a child by her late grandmother, Shirley and her style is decidedly East-Coast fresh, complimented by modern lines. She aims for casual-cosy.

Alicia and I first connected online back in 2012 when Augustbird was just starting out. I joined her ravelry group and we connected straight away. We then went on to collaborate on a number of colourways and patterns over the years, and I invited Alicia to design a pattern for my best selling Tea Time Yarn Club. 

Here at Augustbird it is my great pleasure to offer you a selection of Alicia's knitting patterns. I have enjoyed knitting these myself (some over and again) and I'm excited to be able to continue sharing them with you.
